Dry goods | disc brake and gucha's advantages and disadvantages?

2017-08-31 / Author:Yuandong
  Disc brake is commonly known as hydraulic brake or brake or disc brake;
  Gucha is a traditional brake method for friction and deceleration between the brake pad and the wheel hub.
  At present, the mainstream practice in the market is the front wheel disc brake, the rear wheel use the gucha, that is, the so-called " front drum drum. ".
  The rear wheels do not have disc brakes, mainly for cost considerations, and the current configuration is being replaced by the quandie brake.
  Disc brakes generally speaking better than gucha. The larger the diameter of the brake disc is, the better the piston of the calipers is, the better the piston is, and the lighter the weight is.
  In general, disc brakes have the following advantages over gucha:
  1 ) disc brake has no friction effect ( not easy to hold ), so the brake efficiency is less affected by friction factor and more stable.
  2 ) the efficiency of water immersion is reduced less, and it can be restored to normal by only one or two times of braking.
  3 ) when the output braking torque is the same, the size and quality are smaller.
  4 ) the thermal expansion of the brake disc in the thickness direction is very small, and it will not cause the brake clearance to increase significantly as gucha does, resulting in excessive travel of the brake mechanism.
  5 ) it is easier to realize the automatic adjustment of clearance, and other maintenance and repair work is relatively simple.
  6 ) the disc brake has good heat dissipation, and will not accumulate heat like gucha to make the brake part produce heat exhaustion, and the braking force is weakened.
  Disc brake is not perfect, mainly have a few points.
  1 ) the brake effect is slightly worse than that of gucha, so the brake to promote pipeline pressure required for hydraulic braking system is higher, and the servo device is generally used.
  2 ) when it is used for parking brake ( refer to the car, the motorcycle does not exist this problem ), the parking brake transmission device needs to be installed, which is more complicated than the drum brake, so the application is limited on the rear wheel.
  3 ) the cost is higher than gucha.
  Of course, with the improvement of living standards, ABS is gradually popularized on motorcycles, and gucha is more and more without market. But because of its simple and brutal braking effect, it is believed that in some professional areas will also be used, will not disappear.
